The Trust supports children and young people by providing to opportunities for their personal development and growth including activities to support good mental health. Since 2004 we supported more than 700 applicants.
Recent examples include support for music tuition, participation in theatre groups and equipment to maintain hobbies during lockdown. The Trust steps in to provide help when family financial circumstances limit the chance to access opportunities that better off families can offer as a matter of course.
We also support, in the longer term, talented young people who could not progress their talent without help e.g. a regional and national swimming champion, a Cerebral Palsy world championship participant. The more successful a young person is in their chosen field the more costly the activity becomes and that becomes a challenge for families - lack of income should not be a barrier to success for talented young people.
